Fashion Design Project by Georg Jensen is an initiative that hosts a sketch contest during Athens Fashion Week. The aim of this competition is to recognize and promote the talents of aspiring fashion designers.
The contest welcomes entries from students of fashion and art, as well as individuals with a natural flair for design, regardless of their academic background. The winner of this contest will get the chance to exhibit their debut mini-collection at Athens Fashion Week and compete against fashion school graduates at the upcoming season’s New Designers Awards.
There are two ways for someone to participate in the competition:
– To request an appointment with the organizer, we kindly request that you provide your name and telephone number through email at fdp.afw@gmail.com or via direct phone call at 2109211013.
This appointment request is about your visit to the ‘FDP room of 34th AFW’, where you will be creating a sketch of the elements present.
– To submit the sketch, please ensure that you have filled in all the necessary personal data in the email body and sent it digitally to the designated email address, fdp.afw@gmail.com, by April 28th.
Participants are invited to design a fashion outfit sketch that expresses their style and personality with the colors and design chosen by George Jensen (Panton Tray Pink, Panton Tray Green, Panton Tray Black, and Panton Tray Blue). This edition of the iconic 1988 Panton tray is representative of Verner Panton’s boundary-breaking approach to design and passion for experimenting with materials, color and shape.
The winner of the competition will be awarded free entry to the upcoming New Designers Awards, in addition to a significant cash prize made possible by Georg Jensen. This monetary award will allow the winner to acquire the necessary materials for their collection, which will be presented at the 35th Athens Fashion Week.
The remaining 9 finalists will receive a commemorative gift from Georg Jensen, the sponsor of the FDP.
The Fashion Design Project by Georg Jensen follows a rigorous selection process:
- Once all designs are submitted, a committee of fashion experts will choose the top 10 best designs.
- The Top 10 designs will then be posted on a dedicated platform provided by Georg Jensen, and the general public will be able to vote on their favorite design.
- The winning design will be determined by the one that receives the most votes within the timeframe established by the AFW and sponsor.
