The Fashion Design Project is an initiative that hosts a sketch competition during Athens Fashion Week. The purpose of this competition is to recognize and promote the talents of aspiring fashion designers. The contest welcomes entries from fashion and art students, as well as individuals with a natural flair for design, regardless of their academic background. The winner of this competition will have the opportunity to showcase their debut mini-collection at Athens Fashion Week and compete with fashion school graduates at the upcoming season’s New Designers Awards.
How to participate:
- To submit your sketch, please ensure that all necessary personal data is filled in within the email body and sent digitally to the designated email address, fdp.afw@gmail.com, by the 20th of November 2024.
It is strictly prohibited to digitally alter the design. The sketch must be hand-drawn and not created on a computer.
Participants are invited to design a fashion outfit sketch that reflects their personal style and personality, inspired by sea colors. This year’s inspiration is drawn from the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association (HELMEPA), the charitable organization supported by the 35th AFW. Prizes:
The winner of the competition will receive free participation in the upcoming New Designers Awards.
Selection Process:
The process of selecting the winner of the Fashion Design Project is as follows:
- After the competition closes and all designs are submitted, a committee of fashion industry professionals will review and select the Top 10 designs.
- The Top 10 designs will be posted on a special platform provided by AFW, where the public can vote for their favorite design.
- The design with the most votes within the designated timeframe set by the organizer will be crowned the winner.

If I send the sketch by email, I responsibly confirm that the sketch is my own and not a copy of someone else’s work. In case such fraud is proven, the participant will be excluded from the contest and may face legal prosecution. Digital alteration of the sketch is strictly prohibited. The sketch must be hand-drawn and not created on a computer for merit purposes.
The winner of the Fashion Design Project will have the opportunity to participate free of charge as a New Designer in the New Designers Awards at the upcoming season.

Δηλώνω υπεύθυνα ότι επιθυμώ να λάβω μέρος στον διαγωνισμό Fashion Design Project που διοργανώνεται στο πλαίσιο της 35ης Athens Fashion Week, σχεδιάζοντας ένα σκίτσο και στέλνοντας το για το ίδιο διάστημα μέσω του ηλεκτρονικού ταχυδρομείου στο fdp.afw@gmail.com αφού πρώτα συμπληρώσω όλα τα απαραίτητα προσωπικά μου στοιχεία στο σώμα του email.
Αναγνωρίζω ότι:
Σε περίπτωση που αποστείλω το σκίτσο ηλεκτρονικά, δηλώνω υπεύθυνα ότι το σκίτσο είναι δικό μου και όχι ένα αντίγραφο ξένης δουλειάς. Σε περίπτωση που αποδειχτεί κάτι τέτοιο ο/η διαγωνιζόμενος/η θα αποκλειστεί από τον διαγωνισμό και υπάρχει κίνδυνος δίωξης. Aπαγορεύεται ρητά η ηλεκτρονική επεξεργασία του σχεδίου. Το σχέδιο πρέπει να είναι σχεδιασμένο στο χέρι και όχι σε Η/Υ για αξιοκρατικούς λόγους.
Ο νικητής του Fashion Design Project έχει τη δυνατότητα να συμμετέχει δωρεάν ως Νέος Σχεδιαστής στην ενότητα New Designers Awards της επόμενης σεζόν.
