Athens Fashion Week had its curtain call on 20/6 with the fashion show of Angelos Bratis
under the iconic walkway designed by Santiago Calatrava at the Athens Olympic Sports
Complex . The show was attended by distinguished guests, with the models walking through
the shade, under the light of the setting sun, one day before the summer solstice. The color
palette of the collection was inspired by the experience of a rising summer sun, in the
Cyclades. The moment pulsates with techno beats while the collection moves from
sportswear to abstract geometric and asymmetrical forms that flow on the body. Mirror
effect dresses structured towards the viewer and not towards the one wearing them. A
catwalk of high standards, which delighted the attendees in a perfectly architectural space
that hosted a fashion show for the first time.
Athens Fashion Week this season lasted long enough giving us the opportunity to enjoy
unique and varied fashion collections in unique places of our city, leaving everyone with the
best impressions.
The main venue of the Fashion Week was for the first time “The Ellinikon Experience Park”
located within the Ellinikon Park, the largest urban regeneration project in Europe, carried
out by Lamda Development. Fashion shows were also held in very special places in the
region of Attica.
More specifically, the 32nd Athens Fashion Week kicked off with the presentation of the
new haute couture collection by the beloved design duo MI-RŌ.
The highly anticipated show of MI-RŌ designers invited us to a delightful dip into luxury and
was held at the impressive Olympic Aquatics Center.
Athens Fashion Week continued in Athens’ new green oasis at the unique The Ellinikon
Experience Park from 8 to 12 June.
Athens Fashion Week at Ellinikon Park started with an impressive installation, where 14
Greek designers presented their unique creations. The designers were: Angelos Bratis –
Chara Lebessi -Dassios – Denise Eleftheriou -Dimitris Petrou- Ioanna Kourbela – Kathy
Heyndels – Konstantinos Tsigaros -Liana Camba -Maison Faliakos – Parthenis – Sotiris
Georgiou- Vassilis Zoulias – Yiorgos Eleftheriades.
Konstantinos Tsigaros took the baton with K7 Konstantinos Tsigaros collection entitled
“Sustainability”.
This was followed by Dassios’ fashion show and his premium collection “Walking in the
Glow”, Fall/Winter ’23-’24.
The first day of Fashion Week ended with the fashion house of Kathy Heyndels and Marios
Togos and their “Cocktail” Spring/Summer 2024 collection; a collection full of colors,
textures, lines and shapes! Marios Togos turned old pieces of clothes into new fashion art.
At the end of the show a party with refreshing cocktails followed while DJ Maggie
Charalambidou entertained the attendees with her music.
The second day of the 32nd Athens Fashion Week started with the creations of Vassilis
Zoulias and Maison Zoulias prêt-à-porter collection “Garden Euphoria”, A/W ’23-’24, while
the jewelry by Pericles Kondylatos adorned his creations in a unique way once again. The
fashion show took place outside the iconic Hangar A – the newest preserved monument of
Civil Aviation.
Then followed Daphne Valente with the collection “Flora Graeca” inspired by the botanics
book of the same name, which emphasizes the necessity of respecting nature. The highlight
of the show was ballerina Irida Papoutsi, who pirouetted her way down the runway.
The second day of Fashion Week closed with Parthenis and the Winterlude collection, A/W
23-24.Winterlude- a break of reflection and redefinition, where the simple aesthetics of
normcore are reinvented.
The third day of the 32nd Athens Fashion Week was dedicated to the creativity and talent of
young designers. Six young designers presented their promising collections impressing the
audience and the jury of the New Designers Awards by Guizhou Moutai.
The jury comprised of fashion designer Dimitris Ordoulidis, the Fashion Editor of Beauté
magazine Penelope Papanikolaou, the Managing Editor of fashionnetwork.com Triana
Alonso, Mr. George Kaglis, exclusive importer of Guizhou Moutai and the owner and buyer
of Firis Boutique in Vienna, Mrs. Firuse Attar. The presenter of the award ceremony was
journalist Tonia Koumpa.
The winners of the New Designers Awards were:
Best New Designer: SL by Leonidas Giannopoulos
Best Trendsetter: Irene Jerasovich
Best Catwalk: Blue by Pavlos Kyrkos
3 other talented young designers competed in the New Designers Awards (in alphabetical
order): Atinati, Skin it, Sougaree
Also, earlier in the day, the Gerakas Art School students presented their collections with
clothes inspired by Greek tradition.
Irene Angelopoulos showcased her Summer ’23 Haute Couture collection entitled “Ethereal
Allure”, inspired by the ethereal charm of the mythical and enchanting creatures of the sea,
the mermaids.
The summer mood was present yet again with the new in the Greek market and luxurious
fashion brand MariellaBGreen; a collection of swimwear made of sustainable materials.
This was followed by the sustainable fashion show by Ethical Ode with the title
“Togetherhood” a neologism that wants to remind us the saying “Power in union”. The
designers with sustainable collections that participated were: Syn Athena kai Cheira Kinei,
Line Planet think Greek, Musa Collection, Niki Stylianou, The Holy Bag, New Cult.
The evening ended with the fashion brand Celebrity Skin and its unique avant-garde
collection “Morbid Fascination” with many celebrities on the catwalk.
Paris Valtadoros presented “Illusion”, Fall/Winter ’24 and Resort Collection 2024 in one of
the most spectacular locations inside the Ellinikon Experience Park. The models walked
around the hundreds of water jets of the fountain creating unique “choreographies”
simultaneously and with impressive light installations created a magical atmosphere.
Vlassi Holeva followed with “Gypsy Couture” Summer 2023 collection. An impressive finale
by performer and actress Natasha Kalogridi, who walked dressed in a special creation that
was reminiscent of a wedding dress. The show was followed by a frenetic party with
cocktails and DJ Maggie Charalambidou.
Athens Fashion Week closed with a fashion show by Angelos Bratis.
During the event, guests had the opportunity to enjoy the current collections of the Greek
fashion accessory creators, who participate in the Xclusive Elements: Brag Fashion, E.T.
Collection, Show Room Moonbelli.
The 32nd Athens Fashion Week this season, aimed to raise environmental awareness and
promote sustainable fashion. As part of its social contribution and sustainability activities,
this season, Athens Fashion Week supported the important work of the global non-profit,
environmental and humanitarian organization we4all.
