Athens Fashion Week has established one of its goals as an institution: to support, promote, and reward new and talented designers with the NEW DESIGNERS AWARDS.
The New Designers Awards is an important institution that offers new talents the opportunity to showcase their work to the fashion community, while competing for three prestigious awards: Best Catwalk, Best Trendsetter, and Best New Designer. This year, the New Designers Awards is proudly supported by Georg Jensen, the world-renowned Scandinavian brand that has been synonymous with exquisite craftsmanship, highest quality, and timeless aesthetics for over 100 years.
Georg Jensen, known for its unique designs of iconic jewelry and home products, has a rich legacy inspired by the organic forms of nature. The brand’s commitment to excellence in design and quality continues to inspire fashion and artistry worldwide.
This season, 7 new designers presented their mini collections, each consisting of 10 outfits. These designers are competing for the opportunity to gain recognition and significant prizes in the fashion industry.
Honoring the organization with their presence and participation in the judging panel were: Mr. Pantelis Panteli, Program Director of the BA (HONS) Fashion Design at UCLan Cyprus, Fashion Designer and President of the Cyprus Fashion Designers Association, Ms. Orsalia Parthenis, Director of Parthenis Fashion House and President of the Hellenic Fashion Designers Association, Ms. Ifigenia Plevraki, journalist at Huffington Post, Communication Sponsor of Athens Fashion Week, Mr. Marko Mrkaja from Harper’s Bazaar Serbia, and Ms. Anna Maragoudaki, Operational Manager at GEORG JENSEN. The presenter of the New Designers Awards was Ms. Natalia Katsakiouri, Fashion Editor at Queen.gr, and the President of Athens Fashion Week, Tonia Fouseki, also spoke about the significance of the awards and how they have helped many already established fashion designers to gain recognition throughout the history of the Fashion Week.
